Facts - Insulated Concrete Forms

Insulated Concrete
Forms
Insulating concrete forms,
which are left in place, come in three basic styles:
panel, pre-formed interlocking block or plank systems.
Once the rigid foam forms are assembled, they are filled
with concrete.

Cool Facts
- Energy experts state that 40 percent of the home's
heat loss is through the ground
- Currently in North America, residential basements
claim about one-third of all insulated concrete wall
form sales
- A typical ICF system has an r-value of 17 based
on a temperature of 75 degrees
- Insulated Concrete Forms with their high r values,
low air infiltrations and high thermal mass can account
for approximately 25%-50% energy savings off your
heating bill per month compared to a wood or a steel-framed
home
- There are about 20 major players out of the 70 ICF
manufacturers
- In sound transmission tests, ICF walls allowed less
than one-third as much sound to pass through compared
to an ordinary frame wall filled with fiberglass
- IICF's require waterproofing on below grade exterior
walls in order to maintain all of its benefits

The SUPERSEAL Solution
SUPERSEAL Dimpled Membrane
is fast becoming the preferred choice for the waterproofing
of insulated concrete forms. SUPERSEAL Dimpled Membrane
can be fastened on any type of insulated concrete
form quickly and easily in any weather condition.
If the membrane is applied on a rainy day or if moisture
or water does get behind SUPERSEAL Dimpled Membrane
during the application, it will not matter. SUPERSEAL's
air gap allows moisture or water to escape to the
drain tile for removal. This guaranteed waterproofing
system keeps the wet soil off the face of the foundation
wall and eliminates 100% of the hydrostatic headwater
pressure. It also provides the entire foundation with
a permanent barrier against moisture or water from
entering your basement. SUPERSEAL Dimpled Membrane
allows your insulated concrete forms to effectively
insulate your home and continually save you money.
