ALL-IN-ONE is mainly used under laminate and engineered click together flooring. For carpet installations, we recommend using our Laminate & Carpet Double Dimple Subfloor. If you want to use ALL-IN-ONE for carpet you are required to install a 5/8 inch or ¾ inch tongue and groove plywood on top of the ALL-IN-ONE first.
The difference between the ALL-IN-ONE Subfloor and the Laminate & Carpet Subfloor is:
The ALL-IN-ONE has dimples on one side that point down and the top is flat. This creates an air space of 1/8 inch between the concrete and the bottom of the membrane.
The Laminate & Carpet Subfloor has dimples on both sides that create 1/16 inch of airflow on the top and bottom of the membrane. This allows your carpet pad to breathe, and below grade moisture can dissipate throughout the entire floor area and not get trapped in the pad.
Click together Laminate and Engineered wood flooring are the most common use for this product. They can be installed directly on top of the membrane. The minimum thickness for this is 8 mm. For flooring thinner than 8 mm we recommend using our Laminate & Carpet Subfloor. If you prefer to use the All in One you are required to install a 5/8 inch or ¾ inch tongue and groove plywood on top of the ALL-IN-ONE first.
There are many different types of vinyl flooring. A rigid vinyl plank click-together flooring that is and more than 7 mm thick can be used directly on top of the ALL-IN-ONE. We recommend a plywood subfloor for any flooring thinner than 7 mm. A plywood subfloor is also recommended for sheet vinyl, peel & stick vinyl, and any glue down vinyl.
